This mouthwatering chorizo torta will curb just about any craving — and with a crisp bite of our Jalapeño Nacho Slices and a creamy avocado spread, this sandwich really does give you the best of both worlds.



  1. In a large skillet, heat oil and brown the ground pork until no longer pink.
  2. Stir in chorizo seasoning and mix well for 30 seconds, and add water.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In a small pot, heat refried beans and set aside. Cover to keep warm.
  5. Slice the bread bun horizontally and toast until lightly brown and crisp. Spread refried beans on torta slices, layer with chorizo, cheese, tomatillos, onions, jalapeño, lettuce, and avocado slices. Top with the other half and serve.

I didn’t quite have all the right ingredients (like the bread) but made due. The combo of refrieds and chorizo was SO good.
