Ingredients
- 1 tbls olive oil
- 1lb ground pork
- 1 pkt. La Preferida Chorizo Seasoning ** (or sub 1pkg cooked chorizo in place of seasoning & pork.)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup La Preferida Refried Beans with Spicy Chipotle
- 2 torta buns (bolillos)
- cheese – your choice (we recommend crumbled queso fresco)
- 1 green tomatillo, sliced
- ½ red onion, sliced
- 1 jar La Preferida Jalapeño Nacho Slices (11.5 oz.)
- ½ avocado, sliced
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
Method
- In a large skillet, heat oil and brown the ground pork until no longer pink.
- Stir in chorizo seasoning and mix well for 30 seconds, and add water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a small pot, heat refried beans and set aside. Cover to keep warm.
- Slice the bread bun horizontally and toast until lightly brown and crisp. Spread refried beans on torta slices, layer with chorizo, cheese, tomatillos, onions, jalapeño, lettuce, and avocado slices. Top with the other half and serve.

I didn’t quite have all the right ingredients (like the bread) but made due. The combo of refrieds and chorizo was SO good.
